Feature film competition
The Award of Awards in the Feature film category has been predominantly attributed by the scientific panel of Lucca Animation and will be announced on Saturday the 26th of April 2008 during the final evening of the festival. In this category also, the films that received awards at the most important international festivals or events between 1st January 2000 and 1st of March 2008 have been considered. Of the 19 films that qualified only the 8 finalists will be screened during the festival, for information see the relative section of the catalogue.
The prizes considered for qualification in the feature film category are as follows:
- The Grand Prix for a feature film at the Festival International du Film d'Animation at Annecy (France), awarded since 2001
- The Grand Prize for a feature film at the Animafest in Zagreb (Croatia), awarded since 2005
- The Grand Prize for a feature film at the Ottawa International Animation Festival (Canada), awarded since 2004
- Oscar for the best animated feature film, awarded since 2002 by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Hollywood
- The BAFTA Award for the best animated feature film, awarded since 2007 by British Academy of Film and Television Arts in London
